I was able to open a PNB checking account abroad and opted not to open a savings account. Maybe when I get back home and have funds to set aside for a bank, I’ll get one also. Whether it’s a checking or savings account, I do hope that Filipinos wherever they are can start saving. Start small. Just start; don’t complicate things.
